For 26 years I lived North of the 60th Parallel, from the Arctic Islands and as far south as Yellowknife NWT. During those years, I had many different careers and did many different things including and not limited to, in no particular order; Fishing guide, commercial fisherman, cab driver, truck driver, ice road driver - constructor & scout, printer, Corrections officer, aircraft engineer, Fireman, Fire Inspector, and Co-op Developement Officer. I started my life in the North as a lowly Hudson's Bay Company clerk and ended it as a Safety Super for Robinson's Trucking of Yellowknife. I'm now retired and live in southern Canada.

    WOW! Lots of races around. It could be a full time project just to keep up with them. No familiar names but I bet I could find Perrino in my archives. Naturally the Quest and Iditarod are the two I focus on but some of the stage races are qualifiers for Iditarod. One of my mushing acquaintanences is Karen Ramstead from Perryville Alberta. She is known for running blue ribbon show Sibes for Iditarod. A real neat lady.
    I have often wanted to visit YK someday, maybe race time? Not. Too expensive.
